WHAT IS A CHILD
ADVOCACY CENTER?
The Child Advocacy Center of Lehigh County was developed to reduce the harm to children during the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases. We provide the place and support that brings child protection workers and investigators to the child at the Child Advocacy Center. This promotes better communication between child protection professionals and parents/caregivers. Better communication allows for more accurate, immediate assessment of a child's safety and better information to parents/caregivers about the criminal justice process. All of this means that children are hurt less by the need to learn the truth about what happened to them and child victims of abuse can begin the healing process sooner.
